Absolutely. You can set yourself up as an independent or join one of the virtual VETPASS clinics. You set the price and times when you want to work and VETPASS does the rest. We alert you to bookings in your calendar and we can collect the payments for you and pay you when we are paid. VETPASS also markets your availability, skills, expertise, and interests to owners. The process is simple. We recommend that you download both the owner app (orange) and the VETPASS for VETS app (blue), so you can see your own profile as you update it in real-time. You will need to use two different email addresses, one for each app.
When downloading the VETPASS for VETS app. Register as you would for any other App with your chosen email address. We recommend your private email address. You will be able to display – if yiu chose – a public email address in the Apps. In the profile section, we will ask you to attach yourself to a vet practice. If you are not sure, in between jobs, taking a break, thinking about providing your own services as an online veterinarian? Join one of our virtual VETPASS locations for a while. You can change your practice whenever you want.
If you are already attached to a clinic or hospital your practice administrator may invite you from their dedicated Practice Portal. You will receive an email and code to log in to your own account. Once you have set a password using the code on your smartphone, you can edit all your own details, and availability, manage your pricing, appointments, etc. You are in 100pct. control.

VETPASS is the easiest app to learn and use. If you have ever had a video or audio conversation on Facebook or WhatsApp or similar platforms, then you are already trained for VETPASS. VETPASS takes 10 minutes for a vet and less than 5 minutes for an owner to register and start using. You could be seeing a patient in minutes and no training is required.
All an animal’s records and their previous consultations are securely stored in the app.
You can prescribe (subject to your local regulations), triage, treat and offer peace of mind to owners who, for a variety of reasons, are unable to attend a vet surgery in person.
Owners book appointments in your calendar and present with a full medical history for their animal. You can record the appointment if you want in your smart phone (see Recording Appointments in Documents). At the end you complete the discharge in app, or dictate it into the app, and export it to your existing PMS. The patient has their own record in app. That’s it, the paperwork is all done.
Prescriptions are sent direct from your own PMS to maintain control, or you can upload to the app.
Best of all, this can all be done from anywhere at any time.
Registering a VETPASS account and offering your services and access to pet owners is completely free. We do not charge to maintain your account and promote your expertise to owners. All you do is signup to VETPASS and start using it. In the future, if you wish to remove our in-app advertising or make regular use of the appointment functionality we will propose a monthly or annual charge. The cost is likely to range based on usage between the local equivalent of $10 per month and $20 per month dependent upon video time usage (the equivalent of the revenue from less than one appointment a month) with caps for multiple-users, practices, clinics, and hospitals.
VETPASS is the first animal veterinary app to be fun, engaging, educational, have 24/7 availability with multiple uses, and a basic model of no usage or subscription charge for owners. VETPASS is an improved experience for the owner, and it works alongside any other app or video solution you may employ, but your owners will prefer VETPASS. Not convinced, take the challenge. We also believe owners will pay for online convenience at home and to see technicians and nurses online. A $40 or $50 in-clinic appointment can be a $45 or $55 more convenient online appointment or a $15 initial triage appointment with a technician or nurse. You are in control.

You decide. You can bill your clients, or we can handle collection of subscriptions or fees. In advance of appointments, we can collect payments large or small to ensure you always get paid. VETPASS is comprehensive. The platform can be used to run your practice’s calendar, appointment management, invoicing, and payment in-clinic, online, or both. For an online, mobile, or emergency vet, it is a complete solution. We can collect and manage all payments from owners, or your practice can handle it. Every member of your veterinary team can in-app 24/7 manage and update their availability, services, appointments, and even prices in a matter of seconds. There is no need to sit down at a screen or ask reception. Appointments can be scheduled or arranged as one-offs and new care models delivered to owners with exciting revenue streams. Reliefs and locums can temporarily attach themselves to practices for emergency cover, any session, or specific periods, such as holidays.

At VETPASS, owner consent is very important to us.
All owners must accept our terms and conditions regularly which incorporates our consent to treatment form and when they book an appointment with you, they must always accept again our terms and conditions and our consent to treatment form which covers your advice, diagnosis, treatment, continuing and the follow up care you provide. It’s comprehensive and we capture it for every appointment.
We believe you have more legal protection if owners come to you through VETPASS. If your legal advisor disagrees, can they share their concerns with our Chief Legal Counsel at [email protected]
You can see our consent form in our terms and conditions in the apps and in the Documents page. In the event of a dispute, it requires owners and you, the veterinarian to submit to appropriate independent local arbitration avoiding unnecessary and wasteful legal recourse.
We think it is important that acknowledged best practice, local regulatory and professional requirements, as well as common sense, should be followed in the diagnosis, treatment, and care of our animal friends. Generally, in most parts of the world, except in an emergency, online platforms should not be used to diagnose patients without an existing Veterinary Client Patient Relationship (“VCPR”). To establish a VCPR, a vet must have carried out within a reasonable period of prior time (six- or twelve-months dependent upon location) a “Clinical Examination” of the animal: we summarise as a physical check having all five senses available to use, alternatively to have visited the farm, stables, location, etc.
The restrictions of the Covid-19 pandemic introduced the necessity for common sense, and, in some jurisdictions of the world, local regulatory requirements do allow online diagnosis and treatment plans including prescriptions. We think it is all about common sense and we trust and support all the wonderful veterinarians on VETPASS.
As a veterinarian we expect you to be fully aware of what you can and cannot do online. Where there is not an existing Veterinary Client Patient Relationship (“VCPR”) and/or local regulations permit, you will be providing a tele-veterinary advice service, educating owners and guiding them towards correct decision-making in their pet’s best interests.
Every consultation with VETPASS is done in private between owner and vet. We do not record appointments. Our shared experience is that transcripts of recorded consultations are never sufficient to fully describe the exchange between veterinarians, owners, and patients. However, if you desire, you can record your own consultations and take photos during the consultation to add to your records. Nothing in life is perfect, and no system devoid of technical blips. However, if you find yourself mid-consultation and the line drops, try just logging back in and the patient should still be in the consultation. Alternatively, you can call the owner directly should you prefer, or, if your connection problems linger, ask the owner to re-book their consultation.

Then, we aim to respond to you within 72 hours (depending on the nature of the complaint and the investigation required).
